Artistry in Motion's “awe
inspiring” dance educators
Randy
Coleman
(Disney World, ABC TV)Randy is a dancer, singer and choreographer whose
career has spanned all areas of the performing arts and classroom. As a
dancer, Randy has had onstage experience at the nation’s biggest theme
parks, including Opryland USA in Nashville TN and Six Flags over Mid America
in St. Louis MO. He has sang and danced in some of the largest industrial
and convention shows in the country. These productions are for clients
such as Kirby Vacuums, Lil Caesar’s Pizza, Sherwin Williams Paints and
Coachmen Motor Homes.
Most recently he was a featured dancer with “One Step Ahead Productions” in
Reno NV and a lead dancer for Nashville’s smash hit “Cowboy’s La Cage.”
Randy was a principle dancer in the Dolly Parton and Billy Ray Cyrus music
video “Romeo” and performed along side Garth Brooks during the Country Music
Association awards show on CBS TV.
As a choreographer his talents have been in demand by Opryland Talent Productions,
Busch Gardens in Tampa FL and Walt Disney World in Orlando. His work was
also seen on ABC TV in “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade.”
As a master educator of dance Randy has worked for many major dance organizations
in North America, including numerous D. M. of A chapters, Chicago Association
of Dance Masters and the Southern Association of Dance Masters. Randy has
instructed for the Art Stone companies and “Dance Olympus” for many years,
as well as the “Wild Rose Dance Association” in Calgary Canada and the “British
Dance Teachers Association.”
Randy now is the National Director for “International Dance Challenge,”
touring the country, both organizing/hosting dance competitions on a regional
and national level. This position has also landed him the title of
“Executive Producer” for the television shows IDC produces annually,
capturing there events.
Randy brings his expertise and “warm” style to any project he is working on
keeping him in constant demand. He is enjoying the 11th anniversary &
success of his own dance facility “Artistry In Motion” in Nashville TN.
Jennabeth
Friend
This is Jennabeth’s fourth season teaching at Artistry in Motion. She graduated
last year from Lipscomb University with a degree in Education. She also heads up
the Teacher’s Assistant Program for us, training teenage students to be helpers
in the classroom. She recently choreographed for “Get in the Boat”, a local production,
and loves helping students of all ages explore the joy of dance.
Ranie
Jones
Ranie has been dancing for more than 25 years. She has danced on tour with such artists as
JoDee Messina and Out of Eden. She has also appeared on national television in the Academy
of Country Music Awards. Ranie is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, where she studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and
ballroom dance. While at UNLV she had the opportunity to study with various guest artists
in all genres. After graduating she was a dancer at the MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park.
She has also done industrial work including hair and fashion shows. Early in her career,
Ranie had the opportunity to tour as a Dance Olympus V.I.P. And has had the privilege of
being a part of the Dance Olympus Faculty. She now enjoys teaching and choreographing tap,
jazz, hip-hop, and modern, on both a competitive and non-competitive level.
Ranie looks forward to sharing her time and talents for many years to come.
Missy
Naff
Missy Naff brings 25+ years teaching experience to the program. Missy has studied from New York
to California under top professionals and currently does.
Missy has done choreography for numerous theatres in Indiana including work with Annie.
Missy has received numerous high gold and platinum awards for her choreography on regional and
national levels. She has also been awarded top choreography for her tap and jazz work, high point
overall, most entertaining, most creative, directors choice and outstanding performance.
Her students have been chose to perform on the Tomorrowland stage at Disney. Students are currently
performing around the country and have opened their own studio's.
Missy has competed in both figure and fitness competition in Tennessee and Indiana and has place
in both. She has done modeling, performing, viedo work and instructed etitquette classes. Missy
has traveled as far as Jamaica to share her teaching technique.
Missy worked with all levels and excelled. She has been a division I dance team coach leading
the girls to an exciting and successful season.
Missy feels extremely blessed to share her talent and love for dance with her current students.
Sally Grenley
Sally Grenley has been dancing since the ripe old age of three, has studied dance
under the tutelage of Randy Coleman since the age of eight, and has received advanced
hip hop instruction from the L.A. Dance Force. Miss Sally is a veteran of the N2Motion
Dance team and has danced professionally with the Power House Youth Project. Sally
is beginning her fourth year with International Dance Challenge as an Assistant
Director and has worked with youth theatre camps at Donelson Senior Center and Lakewood
Children's Theatre, teaching dance and stage movement. Sally has choreographed local
theatre productions including "Annie" and "Miracle on 34th Street" at Donelson Senior
Center and "Peter Pan" and "The Velveteen Rabbit" at Lakewood. Miss Sally has also
provided choreography for dance camps, small performance groups and individuals
for a variety of productions, including the Donelson Christmas parade for N2Motion.
Sally is best known at Artistry in Motion for her outstanding work with the junior
members of N2Motion and their Platinum winning performances of "Busted" and "Stand
Out". Miss Sally's philosophy on life is: "I get up, I walk, I fall down, meanwhile
I keep dancing."
Kate Adams Johnson
Kate is excited to be joining the faculty of Artistry In Motion. With over 20 years of
teaching experience to her credit, Kate brings extensive training in Ballet – both Cecchetti
and Bournonville techniques, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and Musical Theater styles of dance with her.
A former company member of the Metropolitan Ballet Co. of St. Louis, Northern Kentucky Dance
Theater, and St. Louis Ballet Theater, Kate has performed numerous roles in The Nutcracker,
Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Firebird, Graduation Ball, Les Patineurs, La Boutique Fantaque,
and many original works. Kate has performed professionally for many years across the country
both as a dancer and as an actress and has appeared with Dino Kartsonakis, Dolly Parton, Oak
Ridge Boys, Glen Campbell, Barbara Mandrell, and Whitney Houston, among others. She is also
an award winning choreographer whose work has been performed in over 20 U.S. states as well
as Europe, Russia and Brazil. Here in Nashville she has choreographed for several companies
in town including Circle Players, Nashville Dinner Theater, Act I, Shalom Theater, and Damhsa
Onorach Productions. She produced, directed and choreographed Celtic Christmas – The Show at
Ingram Hall. Kate is also certified Irish dance instructor and has coached her students to
winning 5 Regional titles. She attended college at Roosevelt University in Chicago for Musical
Theater, while training with Hubbard Street Dance Company.
Lindsay White
Lindsay White grew up in San Antonio, Texas where she received years of training in
ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and hip-hop. She received a scholarship in Dance Performance
at Oklahoma City University (OCU) where she was a member of the American Spirit
Dance Company and OCU Pep Dancers. Upon moving to Nashville with her husband in
1998, she continued her dance education at Columbia State where she received her
certification in Dance Studio Management and Commercial Entertainment.
Lindsay’s professional career includes working with artists such as Jo Dee Messina, Out
of Eden, Nicole C. Mullen, Audio Adrenaline, Sawyer Brown, and Burlap to Cashmere.
She has performed on tours across the U.S, as well as Brazil, Europe, Jamaica, and
Canada. Her experience includes televised performances on the Academy of Country
Music Awards, Dove Awards, TV Specials, and talk shows.
One of Lindsay’s greatest joys is teaching dance to all ages and levels. She has
choreographed nationally award-winning routines for various competitive dance troupes,
and most recently served as a choreographer for the renowned Women of Faith
conferences.
Lindsay has spent the past several years as director of Souled Out Dance Center and The
Movement Dance Troupe in Austin, TX. She recently moved back to Nashville and
looks forward to bringing her passion and knowledge of dance to the students of Artistry
in Motion.
